GUM (Genito-Urinary Medicine) clinics, often referred to as "Special", "VD" or "Clap" clinics, specialise in the treatment of STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections). They are the best place to go if you suspect that you've contracted a STI.

You do not need to be referred to a GUM clinic by your Doctor or even use your real name when you make an appointment. You can also arrange an appointment through the Men4Men SHOP where you can confidentially discuss any concerns you have before going.

GUM clinics are usually able to offer you a wide range of FREE sexual health checks and treatments including:

  • Detection and treatment of STIs
  • HIV antibody testing
  • Hepatitis B vaccinations
  • Medical monitoring
  • Care for HIV positive people
